Estilo indirecto
El reported speech es lo que decimos, estilo indirecto. Es decir cuando alguien te cuenta un hecho, una situación que ha ocurrido en otro momento.
– I am in the office
– Reported Speech: Tom said he was in the office
Como veis ha habido un cambio de tiempo. En la primera frase( estilo directo) el verbo está en Present Simple mientras que en la de Reported Speech está en pasado.

Mira los cambios de tiempos verbales aquí:
- present simple—> past simple
- I go to the cinema: She said she went to the cinema.
- past simple—> past perfect
- I went to the cinema: She said she had been to the cinema.
- present perfect —>past perfect
- I have been to the cinema: She said she had been to the cinema.
- past perfect —> past perfect
- I had been to the cinema: She said she had been to the cinema
- present continuous—>past continuous
- I am going to the cinema: She said she was going to the cinema.
- past continuous—> past perfect continuous
- I was going to the cinema: she said she had been going to the cinema.
- present perfect continuous—> past perfect continuous
- I have been going to the cinema: She said she had been going to the cinema.
- will—> would
- I will go to the cinema: She said she would go to the cinema.
- can—>could
- I can go to the cinema: She said she could go to the cinema
- must—>had to
- I must go to the cinema: She said she had to go to the cinema
- may—>might
- I may go to the cinema: She said she might go to the cinema.
- would/ should/ could don’t change the tense.
- I would go to the cinema: She said she would go to the cinema
- I should go to the cinema: She said she should go to the cinema.
- I could go to the cinema: She said she could go to the cinema.
